Blue Tulip is an award-winning performance artist whose work defies boundaries and redefines what it means to heal through creativity. At the center of it all is Shana Starks, the visionary behind a vibrant world where music, comics, and culture come together to uplift and connect. Her creative spark ignited from the moment she first bobbed her head to Bobby Brown’s “Every Little Step” as a toddler, Shana’s life has been shaped by a deep love for sound and storytelling. Influenced by legends like Anita Baker, Mary J. Blige, Brandy, and Erykah Badu, she blends soul, R&B, and hip-hop into a fresh, fearless voice that speaks to the heart of today’s struggles and hopes.

Blue Tulip is more than music. It is a powerful storytelling universe. Through her comic book series, Shana explores mental health, identity, and empowerment, creating bold, authentic stories that uplift Black and Brown communities. Her work transforms pain into art and silence into a call for healing and self-expression.

Her debut EP "Indigo", released in winter 2022, is a raw and honest reflection on love, anxiety, and finding strength in vulnerability. Now, with her upcoming full-length album "Pretty Ladies Love Island Beats" set to drop July 26, 2025, Shana invites listeners on a transformative journey through life’s highs and lows, told from the perspective of the unheard and overlooked.

The name Blue Tulip holds deep meaning. It is Shana’s favorite color and a symbol of love and resilience, with a nod to her father’s thoughtful tulip bouquets. It represents the courage to be seen and to stand strong even when the world tries to silence you.

Blue Tulip’s story ignited in Wilmington, Delaware, sparked by a simple question at an art event: If you were a comic book character, who would you be and why? This moment sparked a creative movement where music and storytelling meet to inspire hope, courage, and connection.
